It has taken some time and finagling but we have managed to enlarge the 3x4 picture we shared a couple weeks ago into an 8x10 where you can still see who is who. If you would like a copy, we will send you the size you would like up to an 8x10 for a donation of your choosing to the church. We will make the order on March 1st so please have all orders to us by this date.
You can send donations to our address PO Box 36 Mount Vernon, VA 22121 or on-line washingtonfarmumc.org/give/
Washington Farm’s Got Talent
Do you like to sing? Play an instrument? Act in a skit? Dance? Perform a magic trick? Create a work of art? If so, then please sign up to perform on Washington Farm’s Got Talent! This annual event has become a favorite at the church. With about 25 different acts each year, including children and adults, amateurs and professionals, in a wide variety of genres, you are sure to enjoy it! A reception will follow the event.
All proceeds will go toward 6 designated mission projects of the United Methodist Church in VA:
The Methodist Church in Cambodia – For continued support for our partnership with the Methodist Mission in Cambodia as they move toward being an autonomous Methodist Church.
Shade and Fresh Water Ministry in Brazil – For our continued long term support of the Shade and Fresh Water ministry with at risk children across several conferences in the Methodist Church of Brazil.
Christian Education in Mozambique – Our partnership with the United Methodist Church of Mozambique focuses on education by providing lay training resources that strengthens their discipleship and witness across both conferences in Mozambique.
Virginia Long Term Disaster Recovery – We are committed to a long term response to those whose lives were changed by tornadoes and hurricane Matthew in 2016. The funding of the recovery will allow further teams to answer the call to make a compassionate response.
Ethnic Minority Missional Ministries – Funds for grants to go toward developing ministry outreach in the conference to immigrants and other marginalized groups.
Virginia Volunteers in Mission – To provide funds available to small membership faith communities who wish to engage in mission that may lack resources.
There will be a donation box at the event. (Checks can be made payable to Washington Farm United Methodist Church.)
