We will have our regular Sunday 10 AM On-line service as usual on Sept 6. We are going to have communion this Sunday. The Bishop has given us permission to do online communion. If you would like to have communion during worship, you will need to have bread or crackers, and grape juice ready for worship. It does not need to be in any special dish. A regular glass and plate are fine.
Due to COVID concerns the Church Council voted unanimously not to have the Fall Yard Sale. The rational included that we cannot guarantee the cleanliness of donated articles and we cannot maintain the social distancing requirements while sorting, pricing, organizing or displaying the donations.
*No Sunday School on September 6th.

CHRISTMAS TREE LOT
We are excited to be able to continue our tradition of distributing quality Christmas trees to our community!!! We have 750 Caneen, Balsam and Frazier fir Christmas trees coming on Saturday, November 21, BEFORE Thanksgiving. The lot will be set up for social distancing and safe donation practices will be in place. This will especially be a season of needing to pull together, to work hard. Having said that, it is a continuation of our congregation’s commitment to bringing the true Christmas Spirit into the homes of all in our community.

GIVING – While our ministry, programs, and access are very different than a few weeks ago, the life of the church continues, as do our obligations. Our WFUMC family always has been generous with gifts and donations for our church, and to support our local outreach and connectional ministries as well as see to our staff and maintenance costs. Please consider all these needs as you look at your giving plans. You can mail donations to WFUMC, PO Box 36, Mt. Vernon, VA, 22121-0036, or give online. If you have any questions about online giving, please call or email Bob Enck: 571-329-5940, enckfamily2010@yahoo.com
Bible Study – We will start up again on September 9th with a study by Justo Gonzalez, “When Christ Lives In Us”. Copies of the student book can be picked up in the office.
