UMW

*With the production of COVID-19 vaccines in high gear and many receiving vaccinations, we’re beginning to see a glimpse of normalcy on the horizon.  Unfortunately, that does NOT include a May Yard Sale, UMW’s traditional fundraiser Emoji  Nevertheless, with the success of our “little green church Christmas mice” project still fresh in our memory, we’ve decided to do a sequel…with your kind and generous assistance.  We’ll make 32 mice this time – 16 males and 16 females. We have plenty of fiberfill, yarn, and fabric for the female aprons and mob caps, but we could use 1/4 and 3/8 inch ribbon in red, green, white or gold, grey thread, and miniature wreaths, ornaments, baskets or decorations that can be fashioned into bundles that the mice can carry.   Once again, I am happy to bring you the felt and mouse pattern so you can cut out the body pieces at your home and pick them up when you are finished.  We can meet inside the Education Building in small groups or outside as the weather gets warmer to assemble, stuff and dress the mice.  We won’t sell the mice until November when the Christmas Tree lot opens, but we might as well get started now while we’re still at home a good bit.  So please let me know how (or if) you would like to participate.  Please email or call Nancy at the church office if you are interested. 703-780-4696; admin@washingtonfarmumc.org.  Thank you so much in advance.

Beth Jones, President, UMW

**SOWER SPECIAL EDITION

We are asking all of you to share some of your Covid 19 experiences to be included in our SOWER Special Edition next month. How have you and your families survived 2020 and Covid? Schooling from home, not going out for dinner, not seeing friends from church, work, school etc. Have you found any new hobbies, recipes, good books during your time at home? How did you survive the holidays? Via zoom, Facetime, outdoor dinners in warm clothes and face masks? Just something fun to connect us during this time of not being able to be together. Perhaps you have pictures to share of some of your activities. I have already done mine, do yours today before you forget to do it! 😊Just a paragraph or two. Email them to admin@washingtonfarmumc.org, by Thursday, March 18. I will get them to Faith Armstrong, our SOWER editor extraordinaire!
