Service has been at the heart of who we are since our beginning. We are a small congregation with a big commitment to serving our community.

Email outreach@washingtonfarmumc.org to find out how you can support us.

Local Missions

We partner with many local groups to get things done in our community to help with feeding, homelessness and other local concerns.

International Missions

We believe in being a witness through the world. Find out how we bear witness to the ends of the earth.

Volunteer

There are many ways to volunteer at and with Washington Farm. Its part service, part fellowship and all sharing the love of God!

Outreach Committee

Our Outreach Committee meets monthly to plan for the wide variety of community services

we support with our time, talents and our finances.

The first weekend in May, the proceeds of this yard sale support the United Methodist Women’s Scholarship Fund.

Spring 2019 Yard Sale

The first weekend in October, the proceeds of this yard sale support the ministries of the church.

The weekend after Thanksgiving until they are gone, we distribute Christmas trees for a donation. These donations help support the ministries and missions of the church throughout the entire year. The lot is “manned” seven days a week from afternoon until evening, with individuals who will carry, trim and help place the tree on vehicles. This is a service we have provided since the 1970’s and we look forward to it each year!

Apportionments

As United Methodists, part of our giving is through local church apportionments.

These are our portion of the global and Virginia budget which support the missions and ministries of the state, national and global church. Apportionments support our bishops and their staff, district superintendents, the training of new clergy at home and around the world and many other missions that make disciples of Jesus Christ around the world.

United Methodist Women

To allow someone to take care of us and to take care of one another is one of the greatest gifts of the church. We have a deep call to be family in the truest sense of the word and to us that means taking care of one another. We do this in many ways. Some of our formal ministries, of which you can find growth within, are part of our Connectional Care Ministries.

They give money to international programs supported by the national UMW and to local projects close to their hearts. They also provide a scholarship to each graduating high school senior and those in college who needs them.

The scholarship deadline is in May and the link to the application will be found here early in the year.
