Food 4 Thought: Discreetly provides packed, healthy weekend meals, drinks, and snacks to students who receive free or reduced-price meals during school days. We help both Woodley Hills and Washington Mills Elementary Schools with their programs.
Good Shepherd Housing and Family Services: Helps low income families and individuals obtain affordable housing and provides personalized services aimed toward participant self-sufficiency.
Hypothermia Shelter: Sign up to help New Hope Housing’s Hypothermia Shelter (December-March) Hypothermia shelters in Fairfax County are almost all located in faith communities and are almost completely staffed by volunteers.
Meals on Wheels: Washington Farm serves five Meals on Wheels routes per month providing nutritious home-delivered meals to help foster independence for seniors and people with disabilities in our community.
Monlach House: Mondloch House provides shelter for 8 single adults who are chronically homeless and have significant mental health needs. Mondloch House was designed using the “Housing First” approach. To sign up to help cook or deliver meals
Move In Day Kits: Part of New Hope Housing’s program to provide “welcome-home kits” for individuals, who have worked hard at job training, found employment, and are ready for a fresh start.
Mt. Vernon Day to Serve: Supports an annual event uniting people of all cultures and races with the shared goal of helping and improving the community where we live.
New Hope Housing: Finds solutions to end the cycle of homelessness by offering homes and services that changes lives.
Phoenix Rising: Delivers nutritious bagged meals to the homeless living in tents, vehicles, and short-term lodging along the Route One Corridor.
Rising Hope United Methodist Missions Church: Brings the “power of Christ” and the “support of the church” to the community living in poverty along the Route One Corridor of Fairfax County. Among other things, we collect food every fourth Sunday during worship.
ROCK (Route One Community Kitchen): Prepares and serves, along with 10 other local churches, lunch each week day to 20-30 walk-in worker
School Supplies: Provides school supplies in backpacks for children in need at Riverside Elementary School.
United Community Ministries: Mobilizes our community to equip, educate, and empower vulnerable children, youth, adults, and families to improve their language and social skills, academic achievements, and health.
Ventures in Community: Unites the diverse faith communities of Southeast Fairfax County to advocate for and serve those less fortunate and in need.
