Local Missions

Fisher House: Provides housing at Ft. Belvoir for military families close to loved ones during hospitalization for an illness, disease, or injury.

Food 4 Thought:  Discreetly provides packed, healthy weekend meals, drinks, and snacks to students who receive free or reduced-price meals during school days. We help Woodley Hills  with their programs. 

Good Shepherd Housing and Family Services: Helps low income families and individuals obtain affordable housing and provides personalized services aimed toward participant self-sufficiency.

Hypothermia Shelter: Sign up to help New Hope Housing’s Hypothermia Shelter (December-March) Hypothermia shelters in Fairfax County are almost all located in faith communities and are almost completely staffed by volunteers.

New Hope Housing: Finds solutions to end the cycle of homelessness by offering homes and services that changes lives.

Phoenix Rising: Delivers nutritious bagged meals to the homeless living in tents, vehicles, and short-term lodging along the Route One Corridor.

Rising Hope United Methodist Missions Church: Brings the “power of Christ” and the “support of the church” to the community living in poverty along the Route One Corridor of Fairfax County. Among other things, we collect food every fourth Sunday during worship. 

School Supplies: Provides school supplies in backpacks for children in need at local Elementary Schools.

United Community Ministries:  Mobilizes our community to equip, educate, and empower vulnerable children, youth, adults, and families to improve their language and social skills, academic achievements, and health.

Ventures in Community:  Unites the diverse faith communities of Southeast Fairfax County to advocate for and serve those less fortunate and in need.
