On Sunday, June 14, we will celebrate Pastor Claire’s four years of ministry with us during worship and at our Summer Picnic. As part of the celebration, we’ll surprise her with a Love Offering, a Shutterfly photo book, and a card from the congregation. She won’t see this version of the newsletter, so the surprise is safe.

A quick reminder that all Kits for Conference items, full kits or individual supplies, are due this Sunday. Thank you for helping support our Virginia Conference neighbors.

We have two great chances to serve our neighbors coming up.

This Sunday, May 24, we’re collecting donations for the Rising Hope Food Pantry. Your gifts of canned protein, pasta, diapers (1–4T), baby wipes, bars, cereal, and shelf‑stable milk make an immediate difference for families along the Route One corridor. Place them in the basket under the prayer box in the narthex.

Then on Friday, May 29, at 10:30 AM, we gather in the Sanctuary Basement for Phoenix Rising to prepare, pack, and deliver meals to neighbors living in motels, apartments, and the Kennedy Shelter. It’s a hands‑on, high‑impact way to show care and compassion.

The applications for the Undergraduate Community Service Scholarship, offered by Washington Farm's United Women in Faith, are due June 1. This scholarship supports both first‑time and renewing undergraduate students who are active in the life of Washington Farm and committed to service in church, school, or the community.

If you or a student in your family is eligible, please be sure to submit the application by June 1. 

This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost as we hear Acts 2:1–21 and enjoy a special recap of Pastor Claire’s Wesley Heritage Tour. Together we’ll reflect on how the Spirit continues to move, inspire, and send us into the world with courage and joy.
