Last week's newsletter was finished and then never sent. It sat in my drafts, which is entirely my mistake, and I am sorry.

Rising Hope is a United Methodist mission church on the Route 1 corridor, serving neighbors who are facing homelessness, hunger, and poverty. Come out on September 30 at 11 AM to walk through the building, meet the people who keep the ministry running, and see the work up close.

Every fall, neighbors across Mount Vernon set aside a Saturday morning to assemble bags of food for kids in our community who need weekend meals.
You can help in three ways: sign up at the link below or in the narthex to assemble or shop for food, or give online or at church, noting "MV Community Service Day," and volunteers will do the shopping.

Please bring food and donations to church by Sunday, September 20, so we have time to shop and deliver.

Saturday, September 26th, the Youth and Young Adults will meet at 9 AM for Mount Vernon Community Service Day at Heritage Presbyterian instead of the usual Sunday time and spot. Click on the link and scroll down to the bottom to sign up to serve.
